Silicon Image's New Technology Offered First in Compaq Digital Flat-Panel Monitor

Compaq Computer Corp. (Houston) will be the first company to offer a digital flat-panel monitor using Silicon Image's new technology and product family. The new Compaq FP720 Digital Flat Panel Monitor features a 15" TFT Active Matrix display and provides full-screen digital images at multiple resolutions up to 1024x768, with a response time of 30ms and a 350:1 contrast ratio for high quality video, graphics, and photo applications.

The PanelLink DVC product family integrates the PanelLink Digital interface with Silicon Image's all-digital image processing technology called PixelPrecision in a single chip, enabling users to have a consistent, high quality, pure digital visual experience that will characterize digital displays of the future. Since it is the first to use the SiI 801, Silicon Image's first PanelLink DVC product, the Compaq FP720 monitor provides benefits that are expected to become standard in digital flat-panel displays over the next year.
