Sinclair Broadcast Group To Air ‘Hate Rising: Antisemitism In America'

60-Minute Special Produced by WPEC/West Palm Beach

Sinclair Broadcast Group today announced it will air “Hate Rising: Antisemitism in America,” a 60-minute special providing an unfiltered look at the rise of antisemitism in America, examining how the country is combating it through awareness, education and legislation.

Produced by WPEC CBS 12 News, Sinclair’s station in West Palm Beach, Florida, “Hate Rising: Antisemitism in America” will initially air on WPEC on May 20th and will be available across Sinclair stations throughout the summer.

The special was inspired by a corporate partnership with USC Shoah Foundation—The Institute for Visual History and Education (USC Shoah Foundation,) with Sinclair assisting with the recording of interviews with genocide survivors as part of the Institute’s Last Chance Testimony Collection Initiative, a race-against-time effort to collect testimonies from the last living survivors and witnesses to the Holocaust and other genocides.

Sinclair is providing production facilities to record testimonies at its broadcast television stations around the US, WPEC was the first of Sinclair’s stations to begin providing production space, equipment, and staff to assist the Foundation in recording new testimonies.

“By sharing the stories of those affected by antisemitism, we aim to raise awareness and build empathy, understanding and respect, while inspiring positive change within our communities,” said Michael Pumo, VP/General Manager, WPEC.
