Single-Chip Broadband Tuner-Receivers

An analog/digital TV tuner-receiver on a microcircuit supports NTSC, Multi-standard PAL and combination NTSC/PAL. The MicroTuner Multi-standard PAL and NTSC/PAL versions are the next products in the company's portfolio of single-chip devices, and they function as the universal ‘gateway' components in bringing video, audio, data and voice to the home or office. The chips are high-performance, dual-conversion tuners that support international standards (NTSC, DOCSIS, VSB, DVB, DAVIC, etc.). At the same time, they maintain compatibility with legacy analog systems, in this case, the multiple PAL standards (PAL-I, -B, -G, -H, -M, -D,-N). The chips, the size of a dime, support TVs and VCRs as well as the next generation of converged consumer electronics, such as DTVs, digital-ready and multi-mode TVs, cable modems, cable set-top boxes, Internet appliances, PC/TVs and IP telephony modems. The MicroTuner, via its superior channel selectivity, eliminates channel interference problems from ghosting to random loss of digital reception, for the efficient utilization of spectrum.
