CVR450 is latest model to join the world's best-selling line of broadcast quality standards converters

NAB 2002, Snell & Wilcox (Booth L9837) – At the NAB 2002 convention, Snell & Wilcox will introduce its new CVR450 linear standards converter, the most recent addition to its Kudos Plus line of digital standards conversion products. A second-generation model that succeeds the popular CRV45, the CVR450 joins the family of Snell & Wilcox Kudos and Kudos Plus products, the world's most widely used range of broadcast standards converters. The CVR450 will be on display in the "Infrastructure" section of the Snell & Wilcox booth with other processing-oriented products.

The compact, one rack-unit CVR450 continues the quality, reliability and performance standards associated with the Kudos CVR product. Ideal for broadcasters, post-production facilities, corporations and universities among other professional users, the CVR450 provides an enhanced feature set, digital I/O and improved noise reduction along with Kudos products' standard rugged portability, high reliability and low power consumption at an affordable price.

According to Snell & Wilcox Product Manager Richard Schiller: "At a time when standards conversion is considered an essential part of the quality chain, the CVR450 introduces yet another reliable Snell & Wilcox solution for digital standards conversion applications where space is at a premium. The CVR450 is a compact and powerful solution that further solidifies the strong reputation of Kudos family of standards conversion products."

The CVR450 is an advanced, multi-format, four-field, four-line aperture standards converter that utilizes 10-bit processing. A powerful temporal recursive noise reduction feature uses automatic noise measurement along with a sparkle filter and rugged TBC performance that enables reliable processing of poor quality input signals. A full range of adjustable processing amp and enhancement controls come standard on the unit, along with two SDI inputs and outputs and a built-in test signal generator.
