The InfraTrack system compliments the company's existing CyberSet tracking methods
The InfraTrack system compliments the company's existing CyberSet tracking methods such as pattern recognition and encoder technologies. InfraTrack measures the 6 degrees of freedom of the studio cameras (X, Y, Z, Pan, Tilt and Roll) by using infra-red light sources (LEDs) that are attached to the studio camera. In order to obtain the camera position parameters, the system uses small infra-red imagers, strategically placed around the studio. Then, through triangulation, the system measures the LEDs' locations and calculates the camera position and orientation. The seventh parameter (Zoom) is measured by means of a separate electro-mechanical sensor attached to the camera lens.
The system enables a complete 360 degree shooting sector and a considerable camera moving zone. The lightweight LEDs' structure enables shoulder mounted or hand held
shooting. No limitations exist on the mounting of peripheral equipment, such as a prompter, viewfinder or monitor on the studio camera.
The system works with both blue and non-blue studio environments where animations and virtual objects can be inserted onto video images of a real set. The system can be used both indoors and outdoors.
