Telestream and Vsoft Partner to Provide Seamless Solution for MPEG Encoding, Media Management and Delivery via the Internet
Telestream, Inc., a leading provider of streaming media encoding and delivery products, and Vsoft, a leader in application software for video services, today announced a partnership involving integration of Telestream's MPEG media encoding/delivery appliance products and Vsoft's MPEG media management software tools. Available immediately, this product integration provides a seamless solution for the acquisition, delivery, and management of high-quality digital media.
The partnership has enabled Vsoft and Telestream to develop file compatibility and metadata interchange to facilitate smooth and reliable operation between their products. Both companies share a common goal of replacing cumbersome handling of physical videotape with efficient digital media management and distribution solutions. The companies also share many of the same dealers, making one-stop shopping easy for their customers.
"We are pleased to be teaming up with Vsoft," said David Heppe, VP Marketing and Business Development for Telestream. "Vsolft's VideoClick™ media management tools are a nice fit with our ClipMail Pro™ and ClipExpress™ encoding/delivery products, especially for content creators and their clients who want to simplify the process of moving, viewing and commenting on high-quality video during the creative process."
Telestream ClipMail Pro™ and ClipExpress™ are desktop appliances that digitize media, and provide superior MPEG media encoding/decoding, playback and media exchange via the Internet. Local or remote control and automatic worldwide standards conversion provide added convenience and user flexibility.
"The integration of Telestream's applications with Vsoft's provides a compelling business case in greatly improving work flow efficiency and saving review and edit room time," said Robin Wilson, VP Business Development at Vsoft.
VideoClick software from Vsoft provides a host of powerful video distribution and management capabilities, including access to MPEG video and the ability to add notes to any frame or section of the video. The video file with associated metadata can be collaboratively reviewed in multiple locations that may only be connected by a corporate LAN or WAN. This greatly shortens the production process. In addition, EDL files (Edit Decision List) can be exported from the Vsoft application, as a rough cut, to the editing system, further reducing the time and money spent in editing suites.
How the Vsoft-Telestream Application Works
Telestream appliances serve as encoding stations that automatically deliver media "parcels" to VideoClick. Telestream's store-and-forward delivery methodology means that the appliances can be connected to VideoClick via LAN or WAN - wherever the source material resides. The media parcels consist of high-quality MPEG video/audio files and important metadata. The metadata includes text information such as subject, author, notes and other important file attributes, which ensure seamless file import into the Vsoft server database. Users can also set up their own media management parameters to control information and delete parcels once imported to VideoClick.
