TV Stations Begin to Create and/or Repurpose Programming for Broadband and the Web

By 2003, half of all stations will be doing so

March 19, 2002 (New York, NY) -- According to the 2001-2006 DTV Migration Trends Survey, conducted by SCRI International (www.scri.com), about one in three stations are already creating or repurposing programming for outside distribution via broadband or via the web. By the end of 2003 about half of all stations are expected to be doing so. The 41% currently unsure could be looking for material that will be essentially free from the quagmire of copyright issues that seem to be plaguing the industry. Hence the final numbers will likely be even higher.
