V1 MP2-HD Video Disk Recorder

Doremi Labs introduces the V1 MP2-HD video disk recorder with superior MPEG2 4:2:2 recording and playback of high definition video. The MP2-HD is ideal as a playback device for large screen presentations, digital cinema and other large high-resolution display applications. In addition, the MP2-HD excels as a drop in replacement for any high definition tape machine for HDTV broadcast and post production applications. The MP2-HD features simultaneous record and play capability for time delay and instant replay of live video feeds such as during sports broadcasts.

HDTVs high resolution necessitates large amounts of storage capacity. The MP2-HDs MPEG2 compression helps to preserve the video image quality while significantly reducing storage requirements. The MP2-HD is housed in a compact 3U chassis with up to two internal hard drives. It can store up to 192 minutes of high definition video at 100 Mbits/sec internally. The optional external drive unit adds practically unlimited storage capacity. The MP2-HD easily exceeds the storage capacity of HD tape recorders.

The MP2-HDs digital disk technology provides an ideal video source for the new high-resolution projectors and displays. Compared to tape based machines digital disk technology offers higher reliability and continuous playback of full-length features as well as instant locate and instant play capability. Video clips and play lists can be easily created with the MP2-HD.

The advanced recording capability of the MP2-HD makes it more than just a playback device. The MP2-HD records one channel of video, up to 8 channels of analog or AES/EBU audio and time code simultaneously. HDTV formats supported include 720p, 1080i, 1080 24p and 24sf. The MP2-HD can be controlled via its two RS-422 ports, 100BaseT Ethernet or its front panel, which includes a jog/shuttle wheel and an optional video monitoring display. Video inputs and outputs include analog Y Pb Pr video and optional high-definition serial digital video (HD-SDI).
