Overview
While 411 Productions was quickly growing as a business, it's video editing bays were holding it back; with out a networked system, editors had to switch drives manually and log onto a different computer for every project… but that all changed with the installation of the Fortra SAN solution by JMR Electronics.

411 Productions, Inc. with locations in Fountain Valley, CA and Denver, CO is a video production company that opened its doors in July of 1993 with, what was at the time, an unusual premise: a video magazine sold in specialty retailers and mailed directly to subscribers. Since that time, an uncommon approach to publishing has become an extremely hot business commodity.

The growing popularity of extreme sports, coupled with the increasing accessibility of technology, has made 411's video magazine a huge hit. Skateboard enthusiasts have been eager to receive subscriptions on a medium best suited to the dynamic nature of their sport.

"We started out with only three employees in 1993," remembers Josh Friedberg, cofounder and VP of business development at 411, "and now we're approaching 35. And, in addition to the skateboarding magazine we've started both snowboarding and BMX video magazines, along with future plans for surfing. It's been great to experience this success and growth. Our only problem was keeping up with our intense production schedules."
