Virtual Set

CyberSet O is a high-end virtual set solution using Silicon Graphics Onyx as the graphical platform. It allows seamless integration of live actors and computer generated sets without cranes or robots and with no time-consuming calibration.

The system uses all types and any number of ordinary studio cameras and lenses and features totally free movement of all cameras in the studio space without restrictions, using standard dollies, Steadycams or even shoulder mounted cameras.

CyberSet O features Orad's proprietary pattern recognition technology that does away with the need for cumbersome studio installations, uncomfortable memory heads and clumsy robotic cameras but at the same time can intergrate cameras mounted on encoder-based tracking heads.

CyberSet O operates in a blue studio with Orad's patented spatially coded wall pattern comprised of two shades of blue. This pattern enables the real-time extraction of camera parameters from the captured video, using Orad's DVP-100 digital video processor capable of an amazing 30 Giga operations per second performance.

Since the camera position, orientation and lens zoom are extracted in real-time using the video itself, any type and model of studio lens can be used and there are no drift, warm-up, backlash or other mechanical problems associated with those virtual sets based on electro-mechanical sensors.
