The DIGI SUPER 86 TELExs is the most telephoto broadcast zoom lens ever produced, with the capability of zooming from 13.5mm~1,161mm or 2,322mm with 2X extender.

The DIGI SUPER 86 TELExs shares all the features of the ground breaking DIGI SUPER 86xs, which made an immediate impact on HDTV and SDTV production after its introduction at NAB 2000. Both lenses have vastly increased production creativity for camera operators, directors and producers, with features that include built-in Shift-IS optical shift image stabilizer, advanced HDxs system for superior specs in a lightweight package, unbeatable reach and excellent overall performance. The lenses maximize both HD and SD camera performance, making the Canon XJ86X series future-proof.

"With the Canon DIGI SUPER 86 TELExs, we can now offer the longest reach ever, while maintaining the same high quality of the 86xs," says Tom Yamasaki, Director and General Manager of Canon Broadcast and Communications. "Now our customers from broadcast, sports, entertainment and corporate to scientific research have access to even higher levels of picture quality, focal length and creative control."

Canon's exclusive Shift-IS optical shift image stabilizer system has radically changed the way production personnel look at long zooms, effectively neutralizing camera shake due to wind, platform vibrations and even camera operators' breathing that previously made many tight shots unusable. With Shift-IS, two shake-detecting sensors for yaw and pitch help to move the Shift-IS lens group horizontally and vertically to counteract the image shake and maintain a totally stable picture, without increasing the overall size and weight of the master lens.

Also equipped with Canon's HDxs system, the DIGI SUPER 86 TELExs benefits from superior optical design that achieves higher specs in a smaller size, lighter weight package. All DIGI SUPER lenses have Canon's second generation Digital Servo Zoom & Focus Demands, including the optional "Endless" digital focus demand, bringing improved ease of operation with features like CAFS (Constant Angle Focusing System), Speed Preset, Shuttle Shot and Framing Preset .

"Equipped with the Shift-IS optical stabilizer system, HDxs and improved controls, as well as the ability to excel in both HD and SD formats, the DIGI SUPER 86 TELExs represents not only the most telephoto Canon lens ever, but also our most completely engineered one as well. The best zoom lens in the world just got better." Tom Yamasaki concludes.
